About the Event
From Loss to Love: A Writing and Meditation Workshop For Women Coping with Loss Have you experienced a loss that you are having trouble coping with and moving past? Maybe you lost someone close to you or watched a dream fade away. Perhaps during the pandemic, you were laid off or lost your childcare and personal space. Or maybe you’ve lost your physical connection to others or the ability to travel or move freely. We all experience loss and many of us struggle to process it and thrive despite the circumstances. Whatever the issue, and wherever you are in the process, this 2-hour interactive writing and meditation workshop led by Alona Shaked will help you release, heal, and thrive. No writing experience required! ● Recognize, honor, and release unhelpful thoughts and emotions ● Connect with your meaning and purpose ● Identify action items to feel better ● Empower yourself to move forward and thrive This workshop was born from my personal experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 28, and experiencing deep loss and challenges during and after treatment. Writing and meditation have helped me move from a place of grief, anger, and fear to a place of growth, fulfillment, and thrivership. My new perspective was the catalyst for leaving a job I was unhappy with, starting my own non-profit to help other cancer thrivers, an adventure living abroad, finding my life partner, publishing my first book, and becoming a coach to help other women thrive and find fulfillment in their lives. I am particularly excited to offer this transformative workshop for Double You members because it was actually Double You that sparked my inspiration and gave me the courage to create this workshop in the first place. On the 2017 retreat, I birthed my non-profit, Thrivacious, which provides support and community to women touched by cancer. A year later, I created a retreat for those women, including my first version of this workshop on loss. I’ve now also offered this workshop to women outside of the cancer context and truly believe that it can transform loss and pain into wisdom and love.
